Before Tattoo

To ensure the best experience, please follow these guidelines before your appointment:

  • Be prepared: Eat well, rest adequately, and ensure you’re in good health.

  • Avoid sun damage: Do not take extended sunbaths or get sunburned.

  • Prepare your skin: If the area to be tattooed has dry or freshly tanned skin, exfoliate gently beforehand. For dry areas (hands, forearms, elbows, knees, or ankles), moisturize regularly leading up to your appointment.

  • Avoid blood thinners: For 24 hours before and after your appointment, avoid aspirin, blood-thinning medications (e.g., Marcumar), energy drinks, alcohol, or drugs.

    You Cannot Be Tattooed If:

  • You are taking antibiotics or cortisone, or have taken them 3–5 days before your appointment.

  • You are pregnant, recently pregnant, or breastfeeding.

  • You have been vaccinated in the last 48 hours.

  • You have a sunburn on the area to be tattooed.

  • You have a planned beach vacation within the 3 weeks after your appointment.

  • You have neurodermatitis on the area to be tattooed.

  • If you have any questions before your appointment, feel free to contact me.

Tattoo Aftercare

After your appointment, you will be provided with personalized instructions for your new tattoo, but here are general aftercare guidelines to ensure proper healing:

  • Avoid movement-intensive activities immediately after tattooing.

  • Leave the second skin on for 24–72 hours. Once removed, gently clean the tattoo with clear water and pH-neutral soap, then let it air dry or pat it dry softly.

  • Apply a thin layer of tattoo cream or natural oil to keep the area moisturized.

  • Shower quickly for the first five days, allowing water, shampoo, and soap to run over the tattoo without scrubbing.

  • Moisturize the tattooed area at least 3 times a day for the first two weeks to prevent dehydration, then reduce to 1–2 times a day from the third week onward.

  • Avoid overstretching the tattooed area, swimming, hot tubs, and direct sunlight for the first three weeks. Use sunscreen (SPF 30+) after the healing process if exposed to sunlight.

  • Itching is normal—do not scratch, as this may damage the tattoo or remove color pigments.

  • Keep the tattoo clean and avoid contact with dirt.

Swelling and bruising may occur in the first few days but are no cause for concern. Send me photos of your tattoo after three weeks for a visual inspection. Any re-coloring must be done within three months of your appointment.
